Tempranillo | Spain’s noble red
Tempranillo is an ancient grape variety, native to upper Ebro River valley and is Spain’s signature red grape. Its name derives from ‘temprano’- Spanish for early, referring to its early ripening nature. Tempranillo is the backbone grape in the wines of Rioja and Ribera del Duero, but is widely grown in other regions in central and northern Spain as well as in Portugal, Argentina, and USA. It’s a versatile red grape variety and can produce a range of wines; from fresh and fruity easy-drinking, to full-bodied and ageworthy reds, even rosé.

Styles: Single varietal or blended, simple and complex, oaked or unoaked; rosé
Structure: Dry, medium acidity, medium tannins, light- to full-bodied
Classic Aromas: Strawberry, red cherry, blackberry, black plum, licorice, vanilla, cedar, dried herbs, leather, earth.
