Sémillon | the noble white of Bordeaux
- Sémillon (Semillon) is believed to have originated in Bordeaux and is most closely associated with the regions dry white wines and the renowned sweet wines of Sauternes. The grape is also widely grown in Australia’s Hunter and Barossa Valleys, where it produces fresh age–worthy white wines. Thin–skinned by nature, it is particularly susceptible to Botrytis Cinerea (noble rot)

- Styles: dry or sweet, single–varietal or blended, oaked or unoaked
- Structure: dry to lusciously sweet, high acidity, body ranges from light bodied (Hunter Valley) to full-bodied (oaked Bordeaux and sweet Sauternes)
- Classic Aromas: lemon, green apple, peach, apricot, beeswax, toast, hazelnut, dates, prunes, caramel, marmalade
