Montepulciano | Abruzzo’s flagship grape
- Montepulciano is a red grape variety native to central Italy, particularly Abruzzo, where it is the region’s flagship grape and one of the country’s most widely planted varieties. Despite sharing its name, Montepulciano is also a town in Tuscany, famous for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a wine made primarily from Sangiovese (locally called Prugnolo Gentile)
