Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most popular and most widely planted red grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon is native to the southwestern France and occurred as a natural crossing between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc in early 18th century. The variety is the backbone of the red blends of Bordeaux Left Bank- Médoc. The grape is known for its dark color, high acidity, high tannins and moderate levels of alcohol. Cabernet Sauvignon is widely grown in Napa valley, California, as well as in Chile (Maipo valley, Colchagua), Argentina(Mendoza), South Africa (Stellenbosch region), Australia (Margaret river, Coonawarra)
