Cabernet Franc | elegance meets aroma

  • Cabernet Franc is believed to be native to the Basque region in SW France and is the parent grape of Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Sauvignon Blanc. Today it is most widely planted in Bordeaux and the Loire Valley.
  • Climate: cool–moderate continental; buds and ripens earlier than Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Styles: single–varietal or blended, still dry red wines (oaked or unoaked) and rose wines, sparkling wines
  • Structure: high acidity, moderate tannins, light–medium bodied
  • Classic Aromas: redcurrant, raspberry, black cherry, red plum, violet, bell pepper, dried herbs, tobacco, graphite
